Champions Trophy host Pakistan says it's not been told India wants to play cricket games elsewhere
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ramiz Raja says he has not been informed by the Indian cricket board that India does not want to play its matches in the country during next year's Champions Trophy
Raja's comments come after BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said last week that India would prefer to play its matches at a neutral venue if Pakistan hosts the tournament.
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to be held in Pakistan in September 2023. However, there have been doubts about whether India will participate in the tournament due to political tensions between the two countries.
In an interview with PakPassion.net, Raja said that he had not received any official communication from the BCCI about India's stance on the Champions Trophy.
"I have not been told by the BCCI that they do not want to play in Pakistan," Raja said. "I have only read about it in the media."
Raja said that he was confident that India would participate in the Champions Trophy and that the tournament would be a success.
"I am sure that India will come to Pakistan and play in the Champions Trophy," Raja said. "This is a big tournament and it will be a great opportunity for the fans to see some of the best cricketers in the world."
However, Raja admitted that there were some security concerns that needed to be addressed.
"We are working closely with the government to ensure that the security arrangements are in place," Raja said. "We want to make sure that the players and the fans are safe."
The BCCI has not yet made a final decision on whether India will participate in the Champions Trophy. The board is expected to meet in the coming weeks to discuss the issue.
