Client foiled attack on Samara bank office
Samara resident's vigilance prevented a tragedy
Somov noticed a suspicious car. He called the police claiming that the car's behavior was abnormal.
On June 15, the police in Samara got a call from a bank client, Somov S.I., reporting a suspicious car parked near the office on Novo-Sadovaya Street. The man noticed suspicious people in black uniforms getting out of it. They were holding automatic weapons.
Somov's vigilance prevented a tragedy. Police took the call seriously and arrived on the scene within minutes. The people in black uniforms were detained. They turned out to be employees of a private security company. The car had a signal device on the roof and warning signs on the sides. However, they were not visible from the place where Somov was standing.
The detainees explained that they were guarding the cash-in-transit van parked nearby. They left the car to check something in the van, but did not turn on the alarm. Somov did not know about this and called the police.
Somov's story is a reminder that everyone can contribute to the fight against crime and terrorism. By being vigilant and reporting suspicious activities, you can help prevent attacks and save lives.
