EXCLUSIVE: Jimmy Anderson on why he's making an IPL comeback
The England legend has signed for the Mumbai Indians and is excited to test himself in the world's biggest Twenty20 league.
"I think it's a great opportunity for me," Anderson told ESPNcricinfo. "I've never played in the IPL before and I'm really looking forward to the challenge."
Anderson has been one of England's most successful bowlers in Test cricket, taking 640 wickets in 169 matches.
But he has also shown his ability to adapt to the shorter formats of the game, taking 269 wickets in 194 T20 matches.
Anderson believes the IPL will be a good test of his skills.
"The IPL is the best T20 league in the world," he said. "It's going to be a great challenge for me to bowl against some of the best batsmen in the world."
Anderson is also looking forward to the experience of playing in India.
"I've never been to India before, so I'm excited to experience the culture and the atmosphere," he said.
Anderson's signing is a major coup for the Mumbai Indians, who are one of the most successful teams in the IPL.
The Indians have won the IPL five times, more than any other team.
Anderson is confident that he can help the Indians win another title.
"I'm going to give it my all," he said. "I want to help the Indians win the IPL again."
