FC Bayern: Surprise from Vincent Kompany: A Bomb in the Starting XI!

FC Bayern's lineup for their Bundesliga match against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday includes a surprise: Vincent Kompany is making his starting XI debut for the German champions.

The 36-year-old Belgian defender joined Bayern on a free transfer from Anderlecht in the summer, but has so far only made one substitute appearance in the Bundesliga.

Kompany's last starting XI appearance came for Anderlecht in a 2-1 defeat to Union Saint-Gilloise in May 2022.

It remains to be seen how Kompany will perform in his first start for Bayern, but his experience and leadership could prove to be valuable for the team.

Bayern are currently top of the Bundesliga table, one point ahead of Union Berlin.

A win against Wolfsburg would see Bayern extend their lead at the top of the table to four points.

Wolfsburg are currently 10th in the Bundesliga table, but have won their last two matches.

The match between Bayern and Wolfsburg will kick off at 3:30 PM CET on Saturday.
