Hockey stars to dedicate their match on Lake Baikal to the participants of the SVO and the Victory anniversary
The event will be held on March 5, 2023.
The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) announced that the match between the Russian national team and the Belarusian national team, scheduled for March 5, 2023, will be dedicated to the participants of the Special Military Operation (SVO) and the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The match will be held on the largest freshwater lake in the world, Lake Baikal, in the Irkutsk region of Russia. The game will be played on a specially constructed ice rink on the frozen surface of the lake.
The match will feature some of the biggest stars in the KHL, including:
- Alex Ovechkin
- Evgeni Malkin
- Nikita Kucherov
- Artemi Panarin
- Andrei Vasilevskiy
The match is expected to draw a large crowd, both from Russia and Belarus. The proceeds from the game will be donated to the families of the participants of the SVO.
The match will be a unique opportunity to show support for the Russian and Belarusian people, and to commemorate the sacrifices made by their ancestors in the Great Patriotic War.
