Iga Swiatek admits new coach Wim Fissette 'noticed' mistakes
Wim Fissette also praised Swiatek for her big-match experience and calmness under pressure
Swiatek is aiming to win her first Wimbledon title this year
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has admitted that her new coach, Wim Fissette, has "noticed" some mistakes in her game.
The Pole, who is the top seed at Wimbledon, has won her last six tournaments, including the French Open. However, she has struggled for form in recent weeks, losing to Ons Jabeur in the final of the Berlin Open and to Beatriz Haddad Maia in the semi-finals of the Eastbourne International.
Fissette, who has previously coached Kim Clijsters and Angelique Kerber, was hired by Swiatek in April. He has identified some areas where Swiatek can improve her game, particularly her serve and her movement.
"He noticed some things that I didn't notice before," Swiatek said. "He's really good at analyzing my game and seeing what I can do better. We're working on a lot of things, but the main focus is on my serve and my movement."
Fissette also praised Swiatek for her big-match experience and calmness under pressure.
"She's a very experienced player," Fissette said. "She knows how to handle the pressure of playing in big matches. She's also very calm under pressure, which is a great asset to have."
Swiatek is aiming to win her first Wimbledon title this year. She is the top seed in the tournament and is the favorite to win. However, she will face a tough challenge from the likes of Jabeur, Haddad Maia, and Coco Gauff.
"I'm excited to play at Wimbledon," Swiatek said. "It's a special tournament and I'm looking forward to the challenge. I know it will be tough, but I'm confident in my game."
Swiatek will begin her Wimbledon campaign against Jana Fett on Monday.
