Iga Swiatek Pins Improvement Hopes On New Coach
Swiatek Keen to Refine Return Game With New Mentor
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has identified a key area she hopes to enhance under the guidance of her new coach, Tomasz Wiktorowski.
Return Refinement a Priority
Swiatek stated that improving her return game is a top priority for her and Wiktorowski. She believes that enhancing her ability to handle opponents' serves will give her a significant advantage on the court.
"I want to work on my return because I think it's something that can give me an extra edge," Swiatek explained. "I'm not the best returner on tour, so I see a lot of room for improvement there."
Swiatek acknowledges that her return game has been a weakness in the past, but she is confident that Wiktorowski's expertise will help her overcome this challenge.
Wiktorowski's Track Record Inspires Confidence
Wiktorowski has a proven track record of developing successful players, having previously coached Agnieszka Radwanska and Hubert Hurkacz. Swiatek is optimistic that he can replicate this success with her.
"I've heard a lot of good things about Tomasz from other players," Swiatek said. "I think he's a great coach who can help me reach my full potential."
Long-Term Partnership Envisioned
Both Swiatek and Wiktorowski are committed to a long-term partnership. They believe that this will give them sufficient time to implement Wiktorowski's strategies and see tangible results on the court.
"I'm not looking for a quick fix," Swiatek emphasized. "I want to work with Tomasz for many years and build a successful partnership."
