Kirk Ferentz confirms Cade McNamara's status for Iowa's Week 11 game
McNamara to start at quarterback against Wisconsin
Second-year starter has been dealing with a shoulder injury
Iowa Hawkeyes head coach Kirk Ferentz has confirmed that Cade McNamara will start at quarterback in the team's Week 11 game against the Wisconsin Badgers. McNamara, a second-year starter, has been dealing with a shoulder injury that forced him to miss Iowa's game against Purdue last week.
McNamara was injured in the third quarter of Iowa's win over Northwestern on October 29. He was replaced by backup quarterback Alex Padilla, who led the Hawkeyes to a 24-3 victory. McNamara returned to practice this week and has been cleared to play against Wisconsin.
The Hawkeyes are 6-4 this season and need to win their final two games to become bowl eligible. Wisconsin is 6-4 and also needs to win its final two games to become bowl eligible.
The game between Iowa and Wisconsin will be played at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City on Saturday, November 12. The game will be televised on Fox.
