Detroit adds depth to roster ahead of Week 17 matchup

The Detroit Lions have elevated two players from the practice squad and signed a defensive lineman ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

The Lions elevated defensive end Austin Bryant and cornerback Mike Hughes from the practice squad. They also signed defensive lineman Bruce Hector to the active roster.

Bryant has appeared in two games for the Lions this season, recording one tackle. Hughes has appeared in eight games, recording 10 tackles and one interception.

Hector has appeared in 13 games for the Arizona Cardinals this season, recording 15 tackles and one sack.

The Lions are currently 7-8 on the season and are looking to finish the season strong. The Lions have a chance to reach the playoffs with a win over the Bears and losses by the New York Giants and Seattle Seahawks.
