Marcos Rocha considering offer from Gremio
Sao Paulo defender is out of contract at the end of the season
Rocha has been linked with a free transfer to Gremio
Sao Paulo defender Marcos Rocha is considering an offer from Gremio, according to Globo Esporte.
The 34-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has yet to agree to a new deal with Sao Paulo.
Gremio are reportedly keen to sign Rocha on a free transfer and have offered him a two-year contract.
Rocha has been a key player for Sao Paulo since joining from Atletico Mineiro in 2018. He has made over 100 appearances for the club and has helped them win the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A title in 2019.
However, Rocha has fallen out of favor with Sao Paulo coach Rogério Ceni in recent months and has not played since April.
Rocha is now considering his options and is believed to be open to a move to Gremio.
Gremio are currently 10th in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A standings and are looking to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season.
Rocha would be a valuable addition to the Gremio defense and would bring experience and leadership to the team.
It remains to be seen whether Rocha will sign for Gremio, but it is clear that he is no longer in Sao Paulo's plans.
