NBA: Philadelphia 76ers Lose to LA Clippers, Extending Skid to Four Games
Slow Start, Defensive Lapses Doom Philadelphia
The Philadelphia 76ers' struggles continued on Tuesday night as they fell to the Los Angeles Clippers 112-98. The loss marked the Sixers' fourth consecutive defeat, dropping their record to 20-23 on the season.
The Sixers got off to a slow start in the game, trailing by 12 points after the first quarter. They were unable to recover from that deficit, as the Clippers shot 51.3% from the field and made 15 three-pointers.
The Sixers also struggled defensively, allowing the Clippers to score 60 points in the paint. LA center Ivica Zubac had a big game, scoring 22 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Harden, Embiid Struggle offensively
Joel Embiid, who missed Philadelphia's previous game with knee soreness, struggled to find his rhythm. He finished with 22 points on 8-of-21 shooting, including 0-of-5 from three-point range.
James Harden also had a disappointing performance. He scored just 16 points and committed 7 turnovers.
Doc Rivers Expresses Frustration
After the game, Sixers coach Doc Rivers expressed frustration with his team's performance.
"We're not playing with any energy or passion," Rivers said. "We're not making shots, and we're not defending. We need to figure this out, or we're going to keep losing."
Upcoming Schedule
The Sixers will look to snap their losing streak on Thursday night when they host the Indiana Pacers. They will then travel to Brooklyn to face the Nets on Saturday night.
