Star Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra will train in South Africa for 31 days ahead of the upcoming World Athletics Championships and Commonwealth Games.
The 24-year-old Tokyo Olympics gold medallist will fly out on June 15 and the Sports Ministry will bear the expenses of his training in Potchefstroom.
Chopra has been in good form this season, having thrown 89.30m at the Stockholm Diamond League meeting in May. He will be hoping to continue his good form in South Africa and challenge for a medal at the World Championships, which will be held in Eugene, Oregon from July 15 to 24.
The Commonwealth Games will be held in Birmingham, England from July 28 to August 8.
