Paul George on Facing Clippers: 'It's Going to Be Fun. I'm Looking Forward to It'

Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George is excited to face his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Wednesday night.

George, who was traded to the Clippers in July, spent the past three seasons with the Thunder. He helped lead the team to the playoffs each year, including a berth in the Western Conference Finals in 2019.

"It's going to be fun," George said of facing his former team. "I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a good challenge.

"I have a lot of respect for that organization," George added. "They gave me an opportunity to play in the NBA, and I'm grateful for that.

The Clippers are currently one of the favorites to win the NBA championship this season.

They have a deep and talented roster, led by George, Kawhi Leonard, and Patrick Beverley. The Clippers are also one of the best defensive teams in the league.

The Thunder, on the other hand, are in a rebuilding phase. They traded Russell Westbrook to the Houston Rockets in the offseason, and they are expected to be one of the worst teams in the league this season.

However, George said he is not taking the Thunder lightly.

"They're a young team with a lot of potential," George said. "They're going to be hungry to prove themselves, so we have to be ready for that.

"We have to come out and play our game," George added. "We can't take them for granted."

The Clippers and Thunder will tip off at 7 p.m. PT on Wednesday night at the Staples Center.
