SpaceX scrubbed its second launch attempt from Cape Canaveral
The launch was scrubbed due to a technical issue
SpaceX had planned to launch a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on Tuesday, but the launch was scrubbed about two minutes before liftoff due to a technical issue.
The issue was with the rocket's second stage, which is responsible for carrying the payload into orbit. SpaceX said it is investigating the issue and will provide more information when it is available.
This was the second time SpaceX has scrubbed a launch attempt from Cape Canaveral in less than a week. The first scrub occurred on Saturday due to a weather issue.
SpaceX is now targeting a launch attempt on Wednesday
SpaceX is now targeting a launch attempt on Wednesday, August 31, at 12:05 p.m. EDT. The launch will be streamed live on SpaceX's website.
The Falcon 9 rocket will be carrying a payload of 53 Starlink satellites. The satellites will be used to provide internet access to remote areas around the world.
If the launch is successful, it will be SpaceX's 10th successful launch of the year. SpaceX has been launching Starlink satellites into orbit at a rapid pace, and the company has now launched over 3,000 satellites into orbit.
