Sunderland and Coventry City Fined by EFL for Pitch Invasion
Sunderland and Coventry City have been fined by the EFL for pitch invasions that occurred during their recent Championship match.
Sunderland were fined £25,000 and Coventry were fined £10,000 for the incidents, which occurred during their match at the Stadium of Light on 11th February.
Both clubs have been warned by the EFL that they could face further sanctions if similar incidents occur in the future.
The EFL has also reminded clubs of their responsibilities to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators at matches.
A spokesperson for the EFL said: "We are disappointed that these incidents occurred and we have taken the appropriate action against both clubs.
"We remind all clubs of their responsibilities to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators at matches.
"We will continue to work with clubs to ensure that these types of incidents are eliminated from the game."
