Wolfsburg overcame Bayern on penalties Bayern Munich’s women’s team has been knocked out of the DFB-Pokal at the quarter-final stage following a penalty shoot-out defeat to VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday.
The sides could not be separated after 120 minutes of action, with the match finishing 2-2. Lea Schuller and Kathrin Hendrich scored for Wolfsburg, while Lina Magull and Tainara netted for Bayern.
The match went to penalties, and it was Wolfsburg who held their nerve to win 5-4. Almuth Schult saved Bayern’s fifth penalty from Magull to send Wolfsburg through to the semi-finals.

The win means that Hoffenheim will face either VfL Wolfsburg or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals.
