Akira Jacobs Scores 20 to Lead Hawaii Past Life Pacific 96-61
Warriors Win Third Straight Game, Improve to 4-2
Senior guard Akira Jacobs scored a game-high 20 points to lead the University of Hawaii men's basketball team to a 96-61 victory over Life Pacific University on Tuesday night at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
Jacobs was 8-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, and also dished out a game-high seven assists.
Junior forward Kamaka Hepa added 16 points for the Warriors, while sophomore guard Noah Allen chipped in with 15 points.
Hawaii shot 52.8% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range, while Life Pacific shot just 36.4% from the field and 25.0% from three-point range.
The Warriors also outrebounded the Warriors 38-29 and had 20 assists to Life Pacific's 14.
With the win, Hawaii improves to 4-2 on the season, while Life Pacific falls to 0-4.
Jacobs Leads Warriors in Scoring
Jacobs has been a consistent scorer for the Warriors this season, averaging 16.0 points per game.
He is also shooting 47.6% from the field and 40.0% from three-point range.
Jacobs is a key part of Hawaii's offense and his ability to score from both inside and outside the paint makes him a difficult matchup for opponents.
Warriors Win Third Straight Game
The Warriors have won three straight games after starting the season 1-2.
They have defeated Cal State Fullerton, Northern Arizona, and Life Pacific during their winning streak.
Hawaii will look to extend its winning streak to four games when it hosts Southern Utah on Friday night at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
Warriors Improve to 4-2 on the Season
With the win over Life Pacific, the Warriors improve to 4-2 on the season.
They are now one game above .500 and are in good position to make a run at the Big West Conference title.
Hawaii will have a tough test on Friday night when they host Southern Utah, but they will be confident after winning three straight games.
