SDG&E Power Outage Affects Over 1,000 Customers in North County

1,000+ SDG&E Customers Affected by Power Outage

On Sunday afternoon, over 1,000 San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) customers in North County lost power due to a downed power line.

The outage began around 2:30 p.m. and affected customers in the Rancho Bernardo, 4S Ranch, and Carmel Mountain Ranch areas.

SDG&E Crews Working to Restore Power

SDG&E crews are currently working to restore power to the affected areas. The utility estimates that power will be restored by 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.

In the meantime, SDG&E is urging customers to avoid downed power lines and to call 911 if they see any sparks or smoke.

What Caused the Power Outage?

The cause of the power outage is still under investigation. SDG&E is working to determine what caused the power line to come down.
